As Chief Problem Solver for On Point Families it is my desire to directly support parents by assisting them in developing effective parenting approaches. I have over 15 years of experience working with diverse families in both private and educational settings. My goal is to believe the best when the worst has been displayed. I obtained my M.S. in Family Studies and Human Development from Texas Woman's University. Prior to co-creating On Point, I worked as the Director of Programs for CARE Dallas. I have also served as a Substance Abuse Specialist for the Plano Independent School District. Both positions gave me the opportunity to work with at-risk youth and their families. I served on the PTSA board at Plano West Senior High School. In addition, I spent several years developing programs for Frisco ISD. I have presented on the topics of adolescent drug use and parenting roles at the Practical Parent Education national conference. For years I have conducted staff trainings for schools in regards to teen drug use and warning signs. I am passionate when it comes to my work with families and the community. I believe all children deserve a quality education and I serve on a local school board. I am committed to helping strengthen the family unit. I live in Frisco with my husband of 25 years, and our creative 15-year-old daughter. We have a Maltipoo named Cuddles who we adore and who lives up to her name.

As the Chief Solutions Specialist with On Point Families my specialty is academic and therapeutic placement. I work with adolescents and young adults along with their families to find the “right fit” when it comes to their educational and/or therapeutic needs while focusing on the “whole” child. My heart is to keep the family unit intact however, in some instances more intensive options are necessary and in that case I will work with the family to find the “right” therapeutic placement outside the home. My background is in Public Health and Education and I have experienced first-hand how powerful the “right fit” can be for a teen. I am able to see the greatness in a young person even when the worst is displayed. As a former educator, I became keenly aware of the challenges many teens face today such as drugs and alcohol, anxiety, depression, self-injury, pressures of social media and various learning differences that made the traditional setting a challenge. Prior to On Point, I worked as the Director of Admissions and Outreach for a local private school. In this environment I gained intimate knowledge of the unique needs of young people and how finding the right fit opens up opportunity for them to flourish. I recognized a need in my community for an Educational Consultant specializing in both local placement as well as out placement for students with more intensive therapeutic challenges and needs. Our youth today are faced with many challenges and I have found that the traditional school model is becoming harder and harder for some children to fit into. It is my desire to directly support families by assisting them in finding “the right fit” for their teen or young adult in order for them to succeed in life!
